About:
established 2019 to gain freedom from others. Cutting through the noise of business people promising the world to artists. Consciously not reinventing the wheel - simply fighting against outdated structures and unquestioned contracts based on a long gone kind of music business.

Speak: Empowering artists to find their very own way in every ever-so shady aspect of the music business.

Childish Records has always been about supporting, exchanging, talking, brainstorming. This label has been created to release own music, kept alive to have an umbrella for all kinds of consulting work, and is now on its way to become a small home for just as much releases we can actually handle.

Consulting:
The last few years were more about consulting and supporting artists. Having former employees of medium sized record labels, booking agencies & festival makers had us drinking many coffees with many artists of all kinds & genres. Usually we came up when they got sacked by their label, received horrendous offers for promotion campagnes, lost their booking agency, you name it. Beeing busy with other projects it was never an option to actually offer these artists any kind of label service ourselves. Which probably made our support so favorable: They could always count on complete impartiality...

Label:
...which brings us to here. Childish Records will continue to consult and support. But as releases may become more, it will shift some ressources to the release side of things. Which is something we'll continue to do only for music we enjoy so much we'd do the work for free if we could.

How we work:
We're all about staying within our strengths. We do not do big promotion campaigns, we do not try to sell you a fictional publishing department which has never landed a single sync deal, we do not try to "get you on THAT playlist" and we certainly will not promise you anything out of our hands.
We do talk a lot about ideas. About what is important to you. We do know many people who are great to work with, who know a lot about things we do not know about. We do can get your music on vinyl, CD, tapes and whatever streaming plattform you want.
We do let you do your own thing: We gladly talk about ways to save money by sharing work and we also do not need to see our name everywhere.
We follow an hourly pay to stay as flexible as possible. You can walk away the minute you're unhappy or have access to a better deal.
Same counts for us: If we feel we're not the ones bringing you're music to the place you want it to be - we happily let you know who we think would be the perfect match. No strings attached.
But of course, if you prefer paying through shared royalties - we can talk about that as well.

Too good to be true? No. We simply lost sight of what can be if we don't act like pseudo major labels, sillicon valley tech bros and/or superstars.

Maybe think of it like the friend of a friend you met at a concert who said they can help you with some of the music business issues you've just told them about.
And so you meet up for a coffee...
